Thud! is a board game based on a book of the same name created by Terry Pratchett and game-designer Trevor Truran. It is a two-player game where each player plays the side of the nimble dwarfs and the brutish trolls.
Thud! is particularly esoteric, played almost exclusively by those familiar with the Discworld series and more specifcally, the novel. Prior to this application, gameplay was limited to correspondence play and then later a live Java-based applet. With only these options, finding opponents was exceedingly difficult. This application aims to allow players to play correspondence as well as introduces the first-ever Artificial Intelligence Opponent, allowing players to develop their skills without relying on others for practice.
